Popular Actor, Femi Ogunrombi , of the Papa Ajasco fame is dead.
A theatre practitioner Husseini Shaibu, confirmed his death in a post on his Twitter handle on Sunday.
He wrote, “I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead.”
The Papa Ajasco and Company (formerly The Ajasco Family) comedy series was created by Wale Adenuga in 1996.
The story revolves around the Ajasco family and their comic interpretations of happenings in the society.

The main characters in the popular comedy regarded as one of the most watched comedy series are Papa Ajasco, the great womanizer, “his long-suffering wife Mama Ajasco, their mischievous son Bobo Ajasco, local playboy Boy Alinco, promiscuous gold-digger Miss Pepeiye, and illiterate ne’er-do-wells Pa James and Pa Jimoh.”
The late Femi Ogunrombi studied music and drama at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
He was a music and film irector, voice trainer, multi-instrumentalist and composer.
