TWO KILLED, OTHERS ESCAPE WITH BULLET WOUNDS AS SECURITY OPERATIVES ENGAGE KIDNAPPERS IN GUN BATTLE,  IN KOGI

Two kidnappers were killed by security operatives in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State,

Two others escaped with bullet wounds in Kogi on Wednesday.

The operatives also recovered fire arms from the escaping bandits.

The Chairman of Idah Local Government, Abuh Odom, confirmed the incident adding that Kogi is winning the war against kidnapping and banditry.

According to Odom, the support received from the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, by the security operatives in the state, has added to increased  security and victory over some of the assailants.

Odom explained that the security operatives were committed to ensuring that the governor’s mandate on security is pursued to a logical conclusion.

The Kogi State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara, maintained that there is a need for continued vigilance by citizens particularly those in the rural communities.

According to Omodara, security required the collective responsibility of every stakeholder.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure that the entire state was permanently rid of criminal elements and their sponsors.” He said.

According to him, the state government has shown competence and capacity in the area of security adding that the state would not rest on its oars until the end of Bello’s tenure in the state.
