Troops of the Guards Brigade and Operation Wild Stroke of the Nigerian Army have rescued 30 kidnapped victims from Bandits in Toto, Nasarawa State.
Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
He said that troops overpowered the bandits, killed two of them while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
According to him, the troops carried out the “offensive Operations based on credible actionable intelligence on Bandits/Kidnappers Enclaves in the general area of IDU, CHIKARA, along the boundaries of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, ABAJI FCT and KOTON KARFE KOGI State.”
Abakpa says that the soldiers recovered one Rapid Propelled Grenade Tube and several military uniforms from the Criminals.
He said that rescued civilians have since been profiled by the Nigeria Police Division in Toto Local Government Area while the State Government have facilitated their safe reunion with their communities and families respectively.
He reiterated to the determination of the troops of the Brigade to collaborate with security agencies to rid the FCT of all criminal elements.
