The terrorists who attacked the kaduna-Abuja bound train on March 28, 2022 and abducted 61 passengers have released 11 of those abducted.

The release followed weeks of sustained intense negotiation between the terrorists and the Federal Government.

Malam Tukur Mamu, the Media Consultant to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, told the Desert Herald that the terrorists released 11 of the abducted victims on Saturday.

Those released comprising six females and five males have been flown to Abuja for urgent medical examination on the orders of President Buhari.

The released include Jessy John, Amina Ba’aba Mohammed (Gamba), Rashida Yusuf Busari, Hannah Ajewole and Amina Jibril, Najib Mohammed Daiharu, Gaius Gambo, Hassan Aliyu, Peace A. Boy and Danjuma Sa’idu.

The terrorists had given the Federal government a seven-day ultimatum on May 24, 2022 to release their children in Yola Prison.

The terrorists warned they would kill all those in their custody after seven days if their demands are not met but were prevailed upon to change the dreadful position.

The leaders of the terrorists spoke through the spokesman of Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Malam Tukur Mamu, ‘and Dan Iyan Fika.

According to the audio conversations between Malam Tukur Mamu and the leaders of the terrorists, they claimed that the Federal Government suspended the resumption of the train service because of their threats.

”The government suspended the resumption of the train service indefinitely because of our threats and we repeat, if our conditions are not met, the resumption of the train service is to the detriment of the government and the passengers

“We don’t need money. We have a good reason for doing what we did, until our demands are met none of the victims will come out alive even if it means we all die with them.

“They are well taken care of as you can see from the pictures we sent to you via WhatsApp but we assure you that this will not continue.

“We choose you (Tukur Mamu) to convey this important message to the government, the families of the victims and Nigerians in general because we believe you won’t alter our message and we have seen you severally with Sheikh Gumi in the forest, therefore, we recognized the fearlessness in you”. The message stated.
