The Director-General of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign team, Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, on Friday, finally dumped his boss, Tinubu and All Progressives Congress, APC, and defected to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.
With the defection, Jibrin Kofa, ends weeks of speculations about his future political plans ahead of 2023.
The former House of Representatives member posted a picture on his Facebook page where he was holding a basket of vegetables, which is the symbol of his new party.
Recall that on May 7, the former Appropriation Committee chairman of the House of Representatives dumped APC and commented that, “I have done my best for APC.”
“It’s time to move on. I will announce my new political party within the next 24 hours insha Allah. I will make a formal statement in due course.” He added
It was gathered that he left APC because he was not giving automatic ticket but was asked to go through primaries with Ali Datti Yako.
Also defected to NNPP, alongside with him are the Deputy Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Zubairu Hamza Massu, member, representing Sumaila Constituency and Hon.Ali Ibrahim Isa Shanono, representing Bagwai/Shanono State Constituency.
The Network gathered that both lawmakers notified the House of their defection in separate letters dated May 13, 2022, which were addressed to the Speaker of the House.
