The President-elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu has described the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, as a man of courage and principle who stood for national unity.

Tinubu spoke while commissioning the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Flyover in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.

He said that by his principled position of fighting for power rotation, Wike encouraged national unity and promoted fearlessness and justice.

 Tinubu also commended the Governor of Oyo State for pitching his tenth with Wike in the struggle for the shift of political control to the South.

Tinubu is in Rivers State on a two-day visit to the state to commission Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Flyover  flyover and a court complex constructed by the Governor Wike’s administration.

Mr Wike had declared Wednesday as a public holiday, urging the people of the state to turn out en masse to receive his guest, the President-elect .

“In his Excellency, I see a man of Principle. He took a principle stand that the Presidency must come to the south. 

“He took his stand not minding whose ox is gored. He looked at the interest of the nation. He promoted unity.

You promoted fearlessness, you championed justice. There was so much gossip and speculation but you stood your ground…

“The construction of this flyover and my invitation to commission this project is another way of building bridges  which  cannot be overstated.” He said
