President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, approved the appointment of a media guru, Bayo Onanuga, the publisher of TheNews, Tempo and PMNEWS as Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The President also appointed the Governing Board and Management team of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) for a renewable term of fou years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on October 13, 2023, said the President appointed Engr. Imam Ibrahim Kashim Imam as the Chairman of FERMA Board, Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi as the Managing Director of FERMA and Yusuf Lawal Othman, as member (NARTO), Engr. Ibi Terna Manasseh, member (FMW), and ACM Shehu Mohammed, as member (FRSC).
Other nember are (Finance) — Babatunde Daramola-Oniru, Member (South-South), Hon. Preye Oseke, Member (South-West) Hon. Oye Ojobe, Member (South-East) — Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, Member (North-Central), Sen. Timothy Adudu, Member (North-East), Engr. Abubakar Bappa, and Aminu Adamu Papa, as member, North-West.
According to Ngelale, President Tinubu expected the new appointees to achieve efficient service delivery, given the central role that the institution would play in the sustainable health of growth-enabling infrastructure nationwide.
He said Tinubu also appointed new aides in charge of ministerial coordination and strategy.
“As part of efforts to prioritize effective and efficient working synergy between the Presidency and Federal Ministries, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointments of professionals who have prior working experience within the architecture of the Federal Ministries adding that they would be coordinating in addition to duties that would be carried out at the President’s discretion.
“In this category, Tinubu approved the appointment of Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Ms. Delu Bulus Yakubu.”
