News Investigators/ President Bola Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, son of the former military leader Ibrahim Babangida, as the Chairman of the revitalised Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
This is contained in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday in Abuja.
Tinubu also approved the appointment of eight others as Chairmen or Directors-General of key federal agencies.
Mr Babangida, 53, holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Relations from European University, Montreux, Switzerland.
He also completed the Executive Programme in Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.
Other appointees included: Lydia Kalat Musa (Kaduna), Chairman of the Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA), and Jamilu Aliyu (Kano), Chairman of the National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
Yahuza Inuwa (Kano) was named Chairman of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), while Sanusi Musa (SAN, Kano) will head the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).
Prof. Al-Mustapha Aliyu (Sokoto) becomes Director-General, Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA), and Sanusi Rikiji (Zamfara) leads the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).
Mrs Tomi Somefun (Oyo) is now Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).
Dr Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria (Kaduna) has been appointed Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC).
