The supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have been attacked by suspected All Progressives Congress, APC, supporters in Lagos State, during his ongoing rally.

Obi is concluding his campaign with a rally in Lagos state

According to trending videos and pictures shared on social media, Obi supporters were seen carrying bruises sustained from the attack.

Also, some vehicles, buses , and cars transporting people to the venue were attacked and destroyed.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the unfortunate but did not give specific details on who carried out the attack.

“I don’t know if they are Labour Party or APC members but I can confirm that some people attacked others and the DPO in that area is already on the matter,”

Also, the Spokesperson of the LP Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Aliyu Tanko alerted security operatives to the aggression against the members of the Labour Party,

Tanko said that the supporters of the party were under attack as they were being prevented from moving to the Tafawa Balewa Square Venue of the rally.

However, he stressed that nothing will stop the Obidients from only their rally.

He said, “the ObiDent Movement is under attack in Lagos, they are stopping our people from coming to the TBS rally.

“Nothing can stop a movement whose time has come. Security operatives take note. We keep moving Obidently and Yusfully.”

Rinu Oduala, one of the supporters of Obi in his Twitter said, “‘Obidients are bullies’. But one party is currently trying to prevent LP rally in Lagos by sponsoring attacks with thugs armed with machetes and guns. The wickedness of our ‘intellectuals and celebrities’ isn’t talked about enough.”

Another tweeter, @anthonyabakporo, said it was sad to see that some thugs were attacking Obidients.

“They just did at Jakande but we were able to get them to TBS, They are receiving treatment. Please signal us if you experience any difficulties. Don’t let nothing stop you! Be here!,” he added.

According to Ikwe Sunday, there’s victory on the horizon as nothing good comes easy.

“Just look at the way thugs are attacking innocent folks and their cars/buses because of their support for a better Nigeria. Well, nothing good comes easy. We are too close to give up now Nigeria must be great,” he tweeted.
