Nigeria’s Supreme Court has said no life was lost in the fire incident on Monday morning.
The inferno razed a section of its expansive complex located at the Three Arms Zone of Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“Yes, there was a fire that perhaps resulted from an electrical fault in the section of a justice’s chambers of the court. But the fire is not as serious as they make it appear on social media.
“From what is being said on social media, it is as if someone went there and set the whole Supreme Court on fire; it is not so,” spokesperson for Supreme Court,” Festus Akande said.
He added that the fire outbreak originated from one of the Chambers of the Justices and was put out with the use of fire extinguishers.
The Network reported that the fire incident started around 6 am and was detected by workers who resumed early for work.
The workers used the fire extinguishers in the building to combat the fire.
