News Investigators/ The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, has urged Nigerians to give necessary supports to President Bola Tinubu’s administration policies for the nation’s growth.
Mr Idris said this on Tuesday in Ibadan during a public rally held at the entrance of the University of Ibadan to enlighten the citizens on the mid-term achievements of the administration.
The minister, who was represented at the event, by the Head of Federal Ministry of Information in Oyo State, Mr Moses Oyelade, said that the Federal government in the last two years had performed excellently well across all sectors of the economy.
He said the administration of Tinubu, introduced bold reforms to address Nigeria’s long-standing economic and social challenges.
Idris said various policies of government in infrastructure, agriculture, power, among other sectors had really changed the face of governance for better.
According to him, federal government has invested so much in the infrastructure sector in the South-West.
He said that many roads that have been awarded for execution, some have been completed while many were on the way to completion.
The minister also cited the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, Lagos-Ibadan, and Badagry-Ilela-Sokoto road projects, among others, stressing that when completed would change the landmark of Nigeria forever.
Mr Idris said that the impacts of the projects would be felt economically, socially, financially and politically.
In education sector, the minister said that the introduction of NELFund, among others, had made education to be a right for all students in Nigeria.
“It is no more a privilege, as government has disbursed N746million as NELFund to about 5,000 students of University of Ibadan,” Idris said.
On agriculture sector, he said that government had provided 165 fodder choppers for 3,000 farmers in Ondo state while it had also launched Agri-connect in Ogun State.
He further disclosed that federal government had upgraded Ikole Ekiti Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre while it had equipped the Ijebu-Jesa Hospital in Osun state through the National Lottery Trust Fund.
Mr Idris also stated that the tax reforms of the federal government, removal of oil subsidy, among others, were for the benefit of the nation’s economic growth.
The minister described President Tinubu as the best leader that could take the country to a greater height.
He urged Nigerians to keep hope alive in the administration of Bola Tinubu, saying Nigeria has a bright future with the policies.
