News Investigators/ “lyanu: The Age of Wonders”, a superhero action-fantasy animated series, is set to premiere on Showmax, a popular subscription video-on-demand over-the-top streaming television service, on Sept. 26.
According to Showmax, the fantasy-adventure series is set for streaming after it premiered earlier on Cartoon Network on April 5, followed by HBO Max on April 6.
The fantasy action-adventure animated series is created and produced by Lion Forge Entertainment and Roye Okupe, and co-created by Brandon Easton for Cartoon Network.
Directed by Roye Okupe, the film features an all-African voice cast, including Shaffy Bello, Babajide Oyekunle, Ike Ononye, Sisan Victor-Woko, Serah Johnson, Okey Jude, Samuel Kugbiyi, and Adesua Etomi-Wellington.
Other stars include Blossom Chukwujekwu, Stella Damascus, Femi Sowooli, Paul Utomi, Bukky Amoboye, Femi “Bakes” Olugbade and Iheanetu Chidinma, among others.
“lyanu: The Age of Wonders” plot follows the tale of a Yoruba-inspired world and a teenage orphan girl (Iyanu) who discovers that she has power that has not been seen since the age of wonders.
She joins her friends Biyi and Toye, and they embark on a remarkable journey to discover the truth about the evil lurking in her homeland.
In her adventure along with the two other teens, she uncovers the truth about her past, her parents, and her destiny to save the world.
The acclaimed film has become a global sensation, topping Cartoon Network’s kids’ series viewership and ranking in the top 10 family shows overall.
