News Investigators/ The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) under the leadership of Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar on Sunday commiserated with the nation over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Sultan stated this in a statement issued by the JNI Secretary-General, Prof. Khalid Aliyu.
He said, “To Allah we belong and to Him we shall all return.
“Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), received with deep sorrow the news of the death of Nigeria’s former President Buhari, which occurred in London.”
He said the late president was known for his simplicity, restraint, and calm approach to leadership.
“In his various capacities, he remained devoted to the ideals he believed would contribute to national growth.
“His tenure, like those of all other leaders, came with challenges and efforts aimed at national development,” Abubakar was quoted as saying.
He therefore JNI extolled his contributions to public service over several decades, adding,” we pray that Allah (SWT) accepts the good he strove for, overlooks his shortcomings, and grants him mercy and forgiveness.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, the Government and People of Nigeria, and particularly to the people of Katsina State.
“May Allah grant them patience and comfort during this difficult time.
“Let us all be reminded that leadership and life are trusts that will one day come to an end and for which we will account before Allah, the Most High.
