The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, on Tuesday, picked Akwa Ibom State Governorship expression of interest and nomination form to contest the 2023 general elections.
The Governorship aspirant, while picking his governorship form at the All Progressives Congress, Secretariat in Abuja, stated that he was highly elated picking the form to contest the governoship election on the platform of the APC in Akwa Ibom State.
Enang said if elected, he will give attention to agriculture, education and declare emergency on the development of the youths and Human Resource Development.
He said he is in the race for the governorship to ensure accountability, change in the mode of doing things, and increase the internally generated revenue funds for the State.
According to him, his intention to be Akwa Ibom Governor, is also to attract the attention of the Federal Government to the state and work more with the Federal Government, cooperate with Federal institutions, in order to be able to bring development to the State.
“I express my gratitude to His Excellency Mr President, the chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Akungu and all the other officers, the National Secretary for the seamless and well organized manner they have organised the process of payment and collection of forms and making sure that at every stage in every state, they have ensured that there is amity and unity.
“And thus far, throughout the processes of the campaigns for the nomination, contest and contact with the delegates, it has been peaceful and it has been handled as a family affair. So I want to congratulate the leadership and I feel elated and proud as a member of the APC.” He stated.
Senator Enang, denied any form of rift or faction in Akwa Ibom State APC. According to him, all the different interest groups have emptied themselves into one family – the All Progressives Congress.
He disclosed that under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and the national Chairman of the party, APC has remained tidy and clean.
