SENATE TO UNVEIL TINUBU’S SECOND BATCH OF MINISTERIAL LIST TODAY

The Nigerian Senate will on Wednesday, unveil the second batch of the ministerial list from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It was gathered that the list was submitted to the Senate on Tuesday by the Chief of staff to the President, Gbajabiamila.

According to reports, the list would be made public during Wednesday plenary.

The report also said the screening of the first 28 batch would be concluded today (Wednesday) to make way for the screening of those in the second batch expected to commence on Monday.

“By Wednesday, the new set of nominees will be unveiled, so that by Monday, we will be through with their screening.

“We want to conclude with the screening before we go on our recess. We wouldn’t want a situation where we would go on recess and we would now start calling lawmakers to back to come for screening,” the source is quoted as saying.

Recall that the Senate on Monday, commenced the screening and screened 14 of the 28 nominees sent to the House while 9 more were screened on Tuesday.

Those who have already scaled the hurdles are Sen David Umahi (Ebonyi), Olawale Edun (Ogun State), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna State), Ahmed Dangiwa (Katsina State), Uche Nnaji (Enugu State), Stella Okotete (Delta State), Adebayo Adelabu (Oyo State), Ekperikpe Ekpo (Cross River State) and Hannatu Musawa (Katsina State).
