RIVERS COURT GRANTS REP N20M BAIL AFTER TWO MONTHS IN DETENTION

 

Justice Chinwendu Nworgu, of the Rivers State High Court on Tuesday, granted bail to a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Farah Dagogo, after two months of being in detention.

Dagogo, was a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aspirant for the 2023 Rivers State governorship election before ran into troubled with the State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

He is standing trial for alleged felony.

He was arrested on April 22, 2022 at the venue of the screening exercise for the party’s governorship aspirants in Port Harcourt.

Court granted Dagogo bail to the tune of N20 million or a surety in like sum with a landed property worth the same amount.

Justice Nworgu after listening to all arguments by both counsels, granted Dagogo bail.

The Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike declared him wanted for allegedly mobilising suspected cultists to disrupt the screening exercise at the party’s secretariat, before he was picked up by security agents.
