News Investigators/ A retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Musa Garba, has joined African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the former AIG officially received the party’s membership card at Sabongari Ward in Gusau on Monday.
NAN also reports that Mr Garba was received by a mammoth crowd of ADC supporters at the Sabongari ward office of the party, with other stakeholders also present.
Addressing newsmen after receiving the party membership card, the former AIG said that his decision to join the party was personal.
“I decided to join politics because of my mission to bring changes to the leadership of our dear state.
“As security expert who just retired from service, I think I can contribute my own quota towards addressing the security challenges faced by our dear state and country.
“I choose the ADC, considering its ideologies which are in line with my mission of joining politics”, he said.
Mr Garba, who said that he was excited to join ADC, assured that he would work for the progress of the party at all levels.
Receiving the retired police chief, the ADC Chairman in Zamfara, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, described the event as a welcome development.
The APC chairman described ADC as a party to beat in Zamfara, considering its popularity and how people were joining it.
He said that the new defector would be given fair treatment like other party members and the enabling environment to operate as a strong stakeholder within the party in the state.
“This is a great opportunity for us to thank the Almighty Allah for getting more responsible and valuable people joining the party,” he stated.
