The 55-year old hotelier who relocated to Nigeria was kidnapped alongside a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Rachel Opadele, at Abaa community in Surulere local government area of Oyo State, in July.

Sadly, both of them were killed by the kidnappers after the ransom of N5 million demanded by their abductors were paid by the families.

The Network gathered that the late businessman was buried on October 1, on Nigeria’s 62 Indepedent anniversary in Timonium, Maryland, USA.

The Christian Wake held on September 30 and burial on October 1 to coincide with Nigeria’s 62nd anniversary.

The event held at Trinity Life Church, 21/22 Joppa Road, Timonium, MD 21093, Maryland.

The Network gathered that the family flew his body back to the United States of America as a screaming metaphor of resentment against the insecurity that has claimed many innocent lives in Nigeria.

The late hotelier migrated to the US when he was in his 20s and returned after over three decades to invest in his country only to be murdered in his 50s.

It was gathered that he commenced his business operations with a farm and the hotel in Nigeria on his arrival in the country.

His family which is naturally angry and inconsolable refused to bury him
in Nigeria. They rejected his native land as the final resting place for him and flew him back to the US where he was buried.

It was stated that the family opted to bury him on Independence Day as a metaphor to portray their anger against terrorism, insecurity and kidnapping in the country.
