PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL ADMITS  IREV REPORTS IN EVIDENCE AS OBI TENDERS INEC FORMS

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, has adjourned till tomorrow 14th, June, 2023, for continuation of hearing after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP,  Peter Obi and Labour Party, tendered the iRev reports for Local Governments of five states.

The local government iRev reports are 21 Local governments in Adamawa State, 20 in Ogun State, 16  in Ekiti State, 19 in Rivers State and 25 in Akwa-Ibom States, respectively.

The court admitted the documents in evidence. 

Mr Peter Obi, on Tuesday tendered the forms belonging to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Obi’s counsel, also brought forward the EC40G forms from 10 Local Government Areas in Niger State during the resumption of sitting on Tuesday.

Forms EC40G is where INEC inputs the number of all Polling Units that were cancelled or voters couldn’t vote at the commencement of the day’s proceeding, in Peter Obi Vs INEC, Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Also tendered by the petitioner are five certified true copies of INEC reports from Niger State.

When the court sat on Saturday, the petitioner – Peter Obi – rendered additional evidence in form of INEC documents and also called up a subpoenaed witness, who tendered a video evidence, which was played in the open court.

All the respondents objected to the documents presented by Labour Party and Peter Obi’s lawyers.

But Justice Tsammani admitted the Rivers State IReV result as evidence and tagged it as exhibits and  adjourned till Wednesday, the 14th of June 2023, by 9 am.
