President Mohammadu Buhari on Wednesday forwarded the name of Mohammed Shehu as the new Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, for confirmation by the Senate.
The nomination of Shehu was sequel to the vacancy created by the resignation of the former chairman, Elias Mbam.
Mbam who was sworn-in in June, 2019, resigned his appointment to contest for the Governorship seat in Ebonyi State.
The letter from Buhari seeking the confirmation of the new nominee reads in part: “In accordance with the provision of Section 154 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I am pleased to forward for confirmation by the Senate, the appointment of Mohammed Bello Shehu, as the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.
“It is my hope that the Senate will consider and confirm the nominee in the usual expeditious manner.”
