Pope Urges Rejection Of Arrogance, Revenge’ In Favour Of Peace

News Investigators/ Pope Leo XIV has used his last general audience before his summer break to deliver a message of peace.

The head of the Catholic Church said that developments in Iran, Israel and Palestine were being followed with concern.

“Let us reject arrogance and revenge, and instead resolutely choose the path of dialogue, diplomacy and peace,” he said in St Peter’s Square on Wednesday.

According to the Vatican, Leo will reside at the papal summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome, from July 6 to 20 and in mid-August.

From there, he will recite the traditional Angelus prayer on three Sundays, which is an event that normally attracts tens of thousands of people to St Peter’s Square.

No private or general audiences are scheduled for July, according to the Vatican’s schedule.
