POLICE ARREST MAN FOR EMPLOYMENT SCAM, SEXUAL ASSAULT IN BAYELSA

Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a 50-year old man,Joseph Godfrey for employment scam in Bayelsa.

The Police Public Relations Officer
Bayelsa State Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police said in a statement that the man was picked up for luring job seekers to hotels where they are sexually molested.

He said that the suspects claims to be staff of Government House, and promises to lures his unsuspecting victims with job opportunities.

Butswat said that the suspect was picked up by operatives when one of the victims raised the alarm at Opolo, where he was arrested.

“Operatives of SWAT Bayelsa State Police Command, have arrested one Joseph Godfrey ‘m’ 50 years, for luring unsuspecting female job-seekers to a hotel and sexually assault them.

“The suspect usually disguised as a staff of Government House, Yenagoa and lured his victims with the promise of Job opportunity and employment.

“He ran out of luck on 10th October, 2022 at about 1300 hours, when one of the girls raised alarm and he was arrested at Opolo, Yenagoa.

“The suspect is being interrogated by Police operatives. Investigation is ongoing.” The statement read
