PDP G-5 GOVERNORS MEETS TINUBU, URGE HIM TO SHOW EQUITY, FAIRNESS, JUSTICE IN LEADERSHIP

The group of five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), referred to as (G-5), on Thursday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with a request to the President for equity, fairness and justice in his administration.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, led the group to see the President.

The  former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governors of Benue, Enugu and Abia states, Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Okezie Ikpeazu, respectively attended the meeting.

According to him, their visit to the President was to remind him to show fairness,  justice and equity as he leads the country to a renewed hope.

Governor Makinde who addressed State House Correspondents, explained why he has become a regular face at the Presidential Villa.

He said that it was his in the interest of the country to hold regular  meetings with the President to brief him on current happenings in the country.

“Well, nation building is a very difficult task. You have to keep evaluating to know what you’re doing, where you’re going. So, we have to keep seeing the President you know, to let them know what is happening.

“And for this evening, the G-5, you know the integrity group, we also came to let the President know what we stood for. Fairness, justice, equity and everything.” Makinde said.

He said that the G5 was on the move for justice, fairness and equity in the recent polity.

“We are going towards Mr. President, you know, coming with us on the route for fairness, for justice and for equity in Nigeria.”
