One person has been reportedly killed while many others sustained injuries when Fulani and Hausa settlers engaged in a bloody clash at the popular Ogbese Market in Akure North Area of Ondo state.
It washed gathered that the clash which began on Tuesday evening, degenerated into a full blown crisis by Wednesday morning. This led to the burning down of several shops at the market.
The clash, it was learnt was ignited by a fight between the Fulani settlers and the Hausas in community. No cogent reason has been given about what led to the clash.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Funmi Odunlami Omisanya, said the command is investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to in Ogbese as at press time, with the heavy security presence. However, residents and traders could be seen in their large numbers discussing the ugly incident.
