Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex umbrella of Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has set up 68-member Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) to reposition the body.
The National Publicity Secretary of the pan-Igbo group, Dr Alex Chiedozie Ogbonnia said in a statement on Friday, that the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu announced it at the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the body.
He quoted Iwuanyanwu as having said that the statutory standing committees of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo would soon be constituted.
According to Ogbonnia, “Since Iwuanyanwu assumption of office as President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, he has demonstrated enormous zeal, commitment, sacrifice and responsibility in repositioning the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization to an enviable height.”
While announcing members of the PAC, Chief Iwuanyanwu noted that his administration will continue to advance Igbo cause in Nigeria through the involvement and engagement of the best Igbo brains and hands in reclaiming the pride of place for the Igbo in Nigeria.
The members are former Secretary-General of Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Ex-governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo and retired Gen. Ike Nwachukwu
Other members of the Council are Chief S. N. Okeke, Gov. Hope Uzodimma, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, Dr Mrs Virgy Etiaba, Prof. Anya O. Anya, Prof. Gregory Ibe, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe (Obi of Onitsha, HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya.
Also in the list are Prof. Chike Edoziem (Asagba of Asaba) Sen. Ned Nwoko, Engr. Chris Okoye, Prof. ABC Nwosu, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, Chief Gary Ewo-Igariwey, Ex-governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Sen.
