The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has visited victim of Election Day violence in Lagos, Mrs Jennifer Efedi.
Efedi was attacked by hoodlums in Surulere, Lagos who attempted to prevent her from voting.
However, she returned to the polling unit to cast her vote after receiving first aid treatment on her injured face.
Obi who posted photographs of his visit to the bold lady in his official Twitter handle described her as courageous and an icon of democracy.
Obi said Efedi was his contact point with all Nigerians who were subjected to brutality during the February 25 elections.
“Today, I visited Mrs Jennifer Efedi. She was attacked on 25 February in an attempt to stop her from voting. She stood her ground. Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria’s democracy.
“She is my point of contact with every Nigerian who suffered similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights, and contribute to a new Nigeria.
“Like many Nigerians , I acknowledge her bravery and resoluteness. Jennifer is a true manifestation of Profile in Courage for a new Nigeria.”
Efedi, went with her daughter to a polling unit in Surulere to vote on Election Day but was attached political thugs whose mission was to scuttle the process.
With a face covered with bloodied bandage, Efedi returned returned to the polling unit to cast her vote and was shown in the social media and the national papers.
