OBI VISITS IJAW HOUSE; MEETS IJAW NATIONAL CONGRESS EXECUTIVES MEMBERS IN BAYELSA 

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, on Thursday, paid a visit to Ijaw House, Yenagoa to hold a crucial  meeting with the leadership of the umbrella Ijaw association, the Ijaw National Congress 

and stakeholders.

Obi posted the meeting in a short statement and pictures he shared on his official Facebook page.

 “I was at the Ijaw House in Bayelsa this morning to meet with the Ijaw National Congress Executives.” He posted.

The meeting was part of the Obi’s campaign and consultations with the critical stakeholders in the federation by the Presidential hopeful.

A statement by the Obi-Datti Media office on Thursday described the outcome of the visit as big boost to the LP Candidate.

The Campaign Office stated that Obi got a landmark endorsement at the Ijaw House, Yenaoga, Bayelsa State during the visit.

The Ijaw, are the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria and are indigenous in Ondo, Edo, Delta,  Bayelsa State, Rivers Akwa Ibom states.

The endorsement by the INC is a follow-up to earlier ones by Southern Ethnic Nationalities comprising, the Yoruba apex socio cultural group, the Afenifere, Pan Niger Delta Forum PANDEF, the Umbrella body of the Igbos, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Middle Belt Forum announced in Abuja last week.

The LP Presidential flag bearer during interaction told the Ijaw National Congress that he is seeking the people’s mandate to fill the vacuum created in our polity by successive leadership failure.

He told the people that a new Nigeria is possible and it has to be based on justice and equity where the people’s resources should be used to develop their areas.

The former Anambra state Governor assured the Ijaw that he and his running mate  are determined to create a new Nigeria where the people will live in peaceful and secured in harmony.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had led the high profile Nigerians that include first Republic Minister of Information Edwin Clark, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and renowned jurist Afe Babalola among others to endorse the LP Presidential candidate who enjoys massive support of Nigerian women and youths.
