The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed over the precarious state of Nigerians in the war-torn Sudan.
Obi in a tweet on Sunday wondered why the Nigerians trapped in the North African country were not evacuated before the crisis since war is not a natural disaster that occurs without warning.
He urged the Federal Government to intensify steps to ensure evacuation of over 4000 Nigerians most of who are students to safety.

The former Governor of Anambra State stressed that it would be sad to lose any Nigerian to the worsening crisis.
“While we appreciate the extreme challenges in Sudan, we deeply implore the Federal Government of Nigeria to expedite all efforts to rescue about 4000 Nigerians that are mostly students in Sudan to safety.
“The Sudanese crisis is not a natural disaster that happened suddenly. It will be sad to lose any Nigerian to the conflict, especially now that we need all hands to create and sustain a New Nigeria.
“Since it is the statutory responsibility of FGN to protect Nigerians at home in Nigeria and abroad, it is important that we attend to such issues with more deserving proactiveness and commitment as the life of every Nigerian is sacred and important. A New Nigeria is really imperative and Possible”, Obi pleaded.
A video has surfaced online where Sudanese militants are videoed hacking people from other countries to death.
The Sudanese militia men break the necks of the helpless victims with stones and other dangerous weapons in a most horrifying manner.
Large number of those killed were seen wailing and pleading for mercy as they were seen on the floor bleeding to an agonizing death.
