A Nigerian man identified as Gershon, on Wednesday, mounted a Labour Party (LP) flag on Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.
Gershon announced the action on his Twitter page while he shared the photos and videos of his risky venture.
He disclosed that planting an LP flag on Kilimanjaro is his own avowed way to participate in the yearning for a new Nigeria as general elections draw nearer.
Gershon said that there is no better place to announce the coming of a new nation.
He stated that he performed the historic hoisting on October 20, 2022, after over 10 hours of trekking, hiking and climbing the mountain.
According to him, he traveled to Tanzania for the sole purpose of putting up the flag on October 20, to mark the anniversary of the #Lekkishooting.
“On Fri, 20/10/2022 after 10½ hrs of climbing, hiking and trekking, I made it to the Uhuru Peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, 5,895m above sea level. There is no better place to announce the coming of a New Nigeria than the Rooftop of Africa. This is my contribution to the effort.” He stated.
