Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has pleaded with voters in Anambra state to ensure that they cast their votes in the 2023 general elections to save the country from drowning.
Obi spoke on Saturday when he made a suprise appearance at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Awka, during the 45th anniversary of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO).
Obi said that Nigeria is going down and that if he is allowed to preside over the affairs of the country as President he will change the situation.
Obi said he is the best of the presidential candidates and that he will ensure unity and safety of all Nigerians.
In his remarks the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor said this time, everybody must market himself.
He said that as for the presidency, the position is not negotiable.
He said, however, that there is need for a presidential candidate to have majority in the national Assembly for his government to be stable.
Obi’s appearance caused a stampede as the large gathering fell on one another to have a glimpse of him and hail him.
