NAIRA SCARCITY: PROTESTERS BURN THREE BANKS IN SAGAMU, OGUN STATE

Angry protesters have burnt down three banks at Sagamu, Ogun State on Monday over the scarcity of the new Naira notes and the refusal of the banks to accept the old old N500 and N1000 notes.

The three banks which were burnt down by the banks are First Bank, Keystone Bank and Union Bank.

Ogun State state Police Public Relations Officer, Bola Oyeyemi, confirmed the burning of the banks to journalists on Monday.

Oyeyemi said that three banks, First Bank, Keystone Bank and Union  Bank were touched by the protesting youths.

He said that police operatives have been deployed to halt further spread of the violence.

The protesting youths were seen in a viral video holding planks and dangerous items as they set the banks of fire with residents watching.
