MANCHESTER CITY BEATS INTER MILAN TO WIN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Manchester City have won the Champions League at the Ataturk Stadium in Instabul.

With a 1-0 victory over a hard fighting Inter Milan, Manchester City completed their league, FA Cup and European Cup treble. 

The second half lone goal scorer Rodri described the victory as a dream come true.

“This is a dream come true. All these guys waiting I don’t know how many years. Some waiting 30 years. Last year we were so close. At the end it is down to God.

“It wasn’t easy. What a team we faced. The way they defended and counter-attacked. They are a great team. I don’t want to forget about my lads, they gave everything. It was an unbelievable effort from everyone.”

Captain Ilkay Gundogan, described the club’s victory as a fallout of many years hard work and dedication. 

“This is a really proud moment for everyone at this football club,” he said. “We work so hard every single day, and we have wanted to win this trophy for so long.

“The Champions League is a beautiful competition, and we are all incredibly happy to have won. This team deserves the highest recognition and winning the Champions League elevates us to the very top of the game.

“And to win the Treble is something amazing. It is the ultimate achievement for any club team, and we have done it. It reflects the quality we have in our squad, but it also shows how dedicated we are.

“I want to thank the Manchester City fans for their support this season. I can honestly say that we could not have done this without them. They have been amazing, and they deserve this moment.”
