LASG INVESTIGATING COLLAPSED 7-STOREY BUILDING IN BANANA ISLAND 

The Lagos State Government has said that it has commenced investigation into the collapse of a 7-storey building in Banana Island, Lagos State.

This was contained in a statement by a Deputy Director,  Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi, on Wednesday evening.

Mukaila said that the 7-floor building under construction has no approval from the state government.

According to him, there was no fatality in the incident even though a few people who were injured are being treated in the hospital.

He said, “An unapproved 7-floor building under construction has collapsed in Banana Island, Lagos State, this evening. 

“Few who sustained injuries are being treated.  There is no fatality. This unfortunate incident happened while casting was being done. 

“The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development,  Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins was immediately on site to assess the situation and flag- off investigation. 

“We ask members of the public to remain calm and expect further information from the ministry as we know more.”
