•••HOST 5MILLION- MAN MATCH IN LEKKI TOLL GATE

AS POLICE TURNS SPECTATORS

The much advertised OBI-DATTI 5million-man match took place on Saturday as  Festac town, Surulere, Oshodi, National Stadium. Ikeja, Ojo and other areas in Lagos turned Obidient simultaneously.

The ongoing Lagos rally saw thousands of supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi host their rally at the Lekki toll gate in defiance to the Police and Court directives.

The thousands of supporters of OBI-DATTI, throng the streets of Lagos in support for Obi and his running mate as they marched at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’

In another development, the crowd also gathered at the National Stadium chanting songs of solidarity displaying fliers and other LP campaign materials.

At the front of the Federal High Court, Ikeja, another group of the supporters also marched round the city chanting songs of solidarity.

The Lagos Police Command were later turn spectators as they could not stop them.

A supporter said “The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”

Another supporter @eklepatience also tweeted, “All we want is a genuine leader that’s ready to serve Nigerians we’re not asking for too much nah, just give us Peter Obi. Festac Lagos is Obidient.”

Recall that the Lagos State Police Command on Friday issued a directive against organising any form of rallies at the Lekki Toll gate, referencing the subsisting court order that prohibited it.

The rally triggered off human and vehicular traffic around the Stadium axis, from Alaka and Teslim Balogun Stadium and down to Ojuelegba
