News Investigators/ The Kano State Government has responded to claims that a recent directive by Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has grounded public administration in the state.
The directive instructed Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to temporarily halt forwarding files to the Governor’s office.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ibrahim Umar in Kano on Saturday.
“The government describes the claim as incorrect and misleading.
“The directive was a responsible administrative and fiscal control measure aimed at preventing unauthorised expenditures and ensuring compliance with the Appropriation Law.
“Essential services in security, healthcare, education, and sanitation remain operational,” he said.
The SSG said the directive was issued as the state’s Appropriation Law for the outgoing fiscal year was elapsing and the new budget was being considered.
He assures the public that once transitional administrative reviews were concluded, appropriate directives would be issued to guide the next phase of executive operations.
