Kano Govt. Approves N310bn For Education, Health  Infrastructure

News Investigators/ Kano State Executive Council has approved over N310 billion for infrastructure, education, healthcare to promote the state:s socio-economic development.

The  News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the approvals were made during the 38th council meeting in Kano on Friday

Commissioner for Information Ibrahim Waiya said the  council approved projects to boost education, infrastructure, and healthcare.

“The council approved N238 million for UTME forms, rehabilitation of Government Girls Secondary School Hotoro South, and renovation of schools in Bagwai Local Government Area.

“The council further approved funds for the feeding of boarding school students and the settlement of outstanding payments for eggs and chickens supplied to schools.

“Additional approvals include the purchase of textbooks for students across the forty-four local government areas and the construction of a nomadic school in Tasawa village of Dambatta Local Government Area,” he said

According to him, the approved projects include the renovation of Kano State Fire Service Headquarters, Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital, and road constructions in Ungogo, Nassarawa, and other areas.

“Funds were also approved for healthcare equipment, environmental projects, and a N113bn mass housing scheme.

“The council also approved Ramadan feeding and youth empowerment programmes,” he said.
