•••SEVERAL BANDITS NEUTRALIZED
Large number of bandits operating in Taraba State have killed about six troops of the Nigerian Army in an ambush on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the convoy was escorting the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Okorie, to Jalingo when it came under attack.
The Network gathered that the Lt Col. is also missing after the encounter with unusually large number of bandits which launched the attack at Tati Village of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The source said that the hard fighting troops engaged the soldiers and held on the pressure until reinforcement from a location at Donga came to clear the bandits.
The Network gathered that the soldiers killed two of the bandits while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
The troops from Donga also recovered arms and ammunition and some amount of money from the Terrorists.
The source said, “The terrorists attacked some troops of the Nigerian Army yesterday. The army lost some soldiers to the ambush.
The soldiers in spite of the surprise attack fought back and neutralized some of them.
“They also recovered some arms and ammunition from them. Some troops from a nearby location, at Donga came to change the tide of the battle.
“The officer who led the operation is also missing as he has not been sighted.
“I cannot say exactly how many terrorists were killed by some were neutralized and the terrorists fled the area. The troops are currently dominating the affected area.”
Also, in Tarraba solders outgunned terrorists who ambushed them and Marraraba in the State.
