Insecurity: Police Distributes N9.1m Cheques To 15 Families of Dead Officers In Anambra

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, has presented cheques of N9.1million to 15 families of operatives who died in active service in the state.

The presentation was made on Tuesday by Mr. Echeng on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme.

 The scheme seeks to boost the morale of officers while carrying out their duties.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Toochukwu in a statement said,  “The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Echeng Echeng, today 19/7/2022 on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, presented cheques worth N9,100,000 to 15 families of deceased police officers attached to the command.”

 “The gesture is an initiative aimed at giving succour to the family of police officers who died in active service. 

“Also, the gesture is aimed at spurring officers to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare is of paramount importance to the administration of the force.”

He quoted CP Echeng as thanking the Inspector-General of Police for his relentless efforts towards ensuring a good welfare package for personnel of the Force and urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in profitable ventures that will in turn, ameliorate the needs of the dependants left behind.

Echeng assured the IGP that, officers and men of the command will continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Anambra State.
