The Benue State Government has concluded arrangements to inaugurate its security outfit, called Benue State Volunteer Guards.

Towards this end, Governor Samuel Ortom will  on Thursday, (tomorrow), August 4, 2022, inaugurate the Batch One of the guards.

This was contained in a statement by the special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Terver Akase, on Wednesday.

He said the passing-out parade of the Community Volunteer Guards scheduled to take place at IBB Square, Makurdi, will commence at 10 o’clock in the morning.

Akase further said the Volunteer Guards are drawn from the 23 Local Government Areas of Benue State.

The Benue State has been facing security challenges raging from herdsmen killings, kidnapping and banditry activities, a development that resulted to the formation of the state owned security outfit.
