President Muhammadu Buhari is holding a crucial meeting with the nation’s security chiefs and other top Government officials at the Presidential Villa, Abuja
The President is presiding over the National Security Council Meeting at the Council Chambers at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting is a follow up to the recommendation and submissions is the last meeting of the National Council of State which raised concern about the alarming insecurity ravaging the country.
In attendance at the meeting which started around 10 am are Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Boss Mustapha; the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.
The minister of Defense, Bashir Magashi; his Interior counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola and that if Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama are also in the meeting.
Although the Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor was represented. all the service chiefs are present at the ongoing meeting.
These are the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao
Other security chiefs in attendance include the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman; the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, are in attendance.
