By Kamsi Anayo

Nigerians would begin to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) by next month going by the pronouncements of Mahmoud Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday,

INEC boss, said at a National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC in the United States that 2.7 million double registrations were weeded out of the last Continuous Voters Registration exercise conducted by the commission.

According to him, about 50 per cent of the new PVCs are ready but yet to be distributed to collection centres.

He added that the commission was waiting for the delivery of 100 per cent of the cards, to prevent them from being accused wrongly that some people were being denied the cards.
