IMO FIRE DISASTER: SECURITY OPERATIVES AFTER TWO OPERATORS

••• MOST VICTIMS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL HAVE DIED- Commissioner

Security operatives are on the trail of two kingpins of illegal bunkering, Victory Ukwe  and Okenze Onyeuke, in IMO State. They are the operators of the illegal bunkering site which killed 110 people in conflagration on Saturday.

Investigation conducted by the Network revealed that the two operators of the illegal site are on the run since the devastating explosion rocked the area killing over 110 people.

The State Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Rt Hon Goodluck Opiah, confirmed to our correspondent on the telephone that Victory Ukwe and Okenze Onyeuke have been mentioned as the operators of the site.
He told the Network that information he received showed that the two men were in the illegal bunkering site till late in the night when they left the place to go and look for good.

According to him,  the two kingins barely stepped out of the place for minutes when a deafening explosion occurred killing large number of people.
He added  that a large number of the victims of the explosion came from the Edo, Bayelsa, Anambra and Rivers State.

According to him, there is a high probability that the operators must have collected so much money from their clients to be able gathered such a crowd to the site in the day if the killer explosion.
Opiah a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly who represented the area, lamented that virtually all the victims of the explosion who were taken to the hospital have died

“We have not seen anybody who survived among those who were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.” He said

Opiah said that the Commissioners of Health, and  Environment and the National Emergency Management Agency visited the site preparatory to evacuation of the corpses.
