The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, has redeployed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Bayelsa State Command, Mr Tolani Alausa, to Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The IGP has named CP Alonyenu Francis Idu as the new Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa.

The State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Asinim Butswat who made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday said that the new CP has officially assumed duty as the 37th commissioner of the command

The new CP hails from Benue state and was appointed to the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. 

He is a seasoned Police Officer with vast experience in Operations, such as Police Mobile Force, insurgency and Banditry operations, investigation in counter terrorism, Fraud and other money laundering related crimes. 

Butswat said the CP has solicited for the cooperation of the good people of the state. 

“He also reassure that the Police Command under his watch, will ensure protection of lives and property, guarantee public safety and sustain social Harmony. The CP can be reached on 09029666606,” he said.
