••• REPORTS ONGOING DEMOLITION EXERCISE IN KANO TO TINUBU

Immediate past Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi, has said that he would have slapped his former boss Rabiu Kwankwaso if he had met him at the Presidential Villa.

Ganduje  was Deputy Governor to Kwankwaso from 1999 – 2003 and 2011 – 2015.

The two fiercely opposing politicians were at the President villa to see the president on Friday but didn’t meet each other the meetings as the President saw them differently.

Ganduje said he was at the Presidential Villa to report the ongoing demolition of properties under the new Governor Abba Yusuf in Kano to the President.

He accused the Governor of being a stooge of Kwankwaso who was carrying out his master’s vengeful mission against part administrations.

Ganduje said “I know that he (Kwankwaso) is in the building. But we did not meet inside. I would have slapped him if I met him inside.” He told State House who sought to know if the President was able to reconcile them

He accused the Kano State of carrying out the demolition exercise without adherence to the law and without the necessary investigation or due notice in line with the provisions of Land Use Act.

The structure  demolished are Haji camp, Daula Hotel and shopping complexes around the Eid Prayer Ground in Kano.

Ganduje said that the structures lwere products of Public-Private Partnerships

“We appointed a technical committee right from the beginning. They submitted a report to the Executive Council. The executive council approved for the PPP project.

“The PPP project is 90% executed, but now without any investigation, without any notice, this new government  under the directive of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso demolished the building. The issue is in a court of law.”

Yusuf had in  his inauguration speech on May 29, directed security agencies in Kano to immediately retake all public properties believed to have been sold by the Ganduje administration.

He had said  that they were illegally acquired and built by the  Ganduje’s administration.
