The Sokoto State, deputy governor, Manir Dan’Iya, on Thursday said he hasn’t dumped his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Dan’ Iya, responded to an earlier statement reported in several media outlets that he had dumped the PDP .

The Director of Press, office of the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abubakar, said his boss has dismissed rumours of his resignation from the party.

According to Aminu, the Deputy Governor, said he is still a bonafide member of the PDP in the state.

He added that the Deputy Governor is indeed a senatorial candidate of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Aminu stressed that his boss has asked his supporters and members of the PDP in the state to ignore the alleged letter in circulation.

He described the letter carrying his purported resignation as a product of the imagination of his opponents.

“The deputy governor just called me on phone now to inform me that he is not leaving the party anywhere. He said he remains a member of the PDP in the state,” he stated.
