Gunmen Kidnap Anglican Priest, Son in Ondo, Demand N10m Ransom

Gunmen have abducted a priest of the Anglican Communion identified  as Venerable Olu Obanla and his son.

The armed men kidnapped the priest and his son along Ifon-Okeluse Road in Ose Local Government Area of the state.

The Network investigation revealed that the priest was traveling alongside his son when the gunmen blocked them and took them to the bush.

It was gathered that the kidnappers have made contact with the family members of the priest and are demanding N10 million for their release.

It was gathered that the priest and his are still in custody of the kidnappers as the family has only been able to raise N1 million.

The source said, “The Priest of the Anglican Church was kidnapped when he was traveling with his son to Okekusi. Sadly, he was with his son who was also taken away.

“The kidnappers have established contact with the family and are demanding N10 for their release. 

“They have not released them because they are insisting on getting N10 million.”

Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami who confirmed the abduction said that operatives of the command are making efforts to release the victims.
