The Anambra’ State Governor, Prof.  Chukwuma Soludo and Labour Party Presidential Candidate for the 2023 General election, Mr  Peter Obi, on Friday met behind closed doors in the state.

Soludo received Mr Peter Obi, also a former governor of the State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka.

The visit by Mr. Peter Obi to Governor Soludo was disclosed to newsmen in Awka, in a statement by the Press Secretary to the governor , Mr. Christian Aburime.

According to the statement, both leaders had a mutual discussion behind closed doors.

During the meeting, Mr Obi commended Governor Soludo highly for the great job he is doing in Anambra State.

On his part, Governor Soludo had welcomed Mr Peter Obi to Anambra as a prominent son of the State.

He wished the LP Presidential candidate well on his presidential bid.

With the visit by the LP Presidential candidate and ex Governor of the state, it has put a stop to the rumour making the rounds that Soludo mocked Obi during a recent ceremony to mark the Governor’s one hundred days in office.

Recall that Soludo was alleged to have said that those in the Labor Party would labour in vain, a statement that stirred ripples in various political camps in both the state and the nation.

Mr. Peter Obi had left Saint Paul’s University Awka after a function, from where he stormed the Amawbia Governor’s Lodge at about 2.30 pm to see Soludo.

According to Aburime, both leaders  during the closed door meeting held mutual discussions.

He said, “Both leaders had a mutual discussion behind closed doors. Afterwards, Mr Peter Obi commended Governor Soludo highly  for the great job he is doing in Anambra State.”

Aburime explained that Governor Soludo on the other hand, welcomed Mr Peter Obi to Anambra as a prominent son of the State and wished him well on his Presidential bid as the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party.”
