Gombe Proposes N320bn Budget For 2025

News Investigators/ The Gombe State Executive Council (SEC) on Monday approved N320 billion proposed estimate for the 2025 fiscal year.

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Salihu Baba-Alkali, disclosed this at the end of the council meeting chaired by Gov. Inuwa Yahaya.

He said the proposed budget would be presented to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday by the governor.

“At today’s sitting, the council has approved a total proposed budget for Gombe state to be spent in 2025, and the amount is N320 billion.

“This is after the deliberations at the council, and we arrived at that amount.

“The proposed budget will be taken to the house on Tuesday by governor Yahaya, to be presented to the House of Assembly for their own constitutional duties and approval,” he said.

Also, Mohammed Fawu, Commissioner for Water, Environment and Forest Resources, said the council approved N160 million monthly for the renewal of contract with Cosmopolitan Cleaners.

Mr Fawu said the contract would run for a year, giving a total sum of N1.92 billion.

He said the renewal of the contract was to enable the company to sustain the sweeping of streets and drain desilt exercise in Gombe metropolis.

According to him, the contract which takes effect from December 2024, will cover 191 kilometres in the metropolis.
