FORMER NFA SEC GEN, SANI TORO, EX-EAGLETS ASSISTANT COACH ABDUCTED BY TERRORISTS

A former Secretary-General of the then Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Hon. Ahmed Sani Toro was on Saturday abducted by gunmen.

The Network gathered that the kidnappers also took along with him is Garba Iliya, a former Golden Eaglets assistant coach.

It was gathered that the two sports personalities were kidnapped along Abuja-Jos road.

Ahmed Sani Toro, a former Commissioner of Sports in Bauchi State, and one-time member of the House of Representatives, served as the Secretary-General of the then NFA between 1993 and 1999.

The Network gathered that the duo were whisked away by the criminals while returning to Bauchi by road after attending the wedding of the son of a former NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari in Abuja on Friday.

The news of the kidnap of the two men was made known by Toro’s friend who stated that the two victims were close to Ryom in Plateau State, when they were kidnapped while returning to Bauchi from Abuja.

He stated that the Kidnappers are yet to contact their families

The friend who refused to release his name in fear of attack stated that the kidnapped former Super Eagles’ officials had attended the wedding Fatiha of the son of Alhaji Aminu Maigari at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday.

According to him, the friends and families are all praying and hoping in earnest that Allah would intervene in the unfortunate incident and prayed that they would be released unhurt.
