A fire incident at 54 Dosunmu Street, Lagos Island, has resulted in the destruction of goods worth millions of Naira.
The Network gathered that many traders who had stocked goods for the Christmas season were seriously affected by the unfortunate incident.
The fire started from 54 Dosunmu Street before spreading to two other buildings.
A trader who sells flower pots in the market who identified himself as Peter told journalists that several traders lost huge amount of cash to the fire incident as they kept the Saturday’s sale in the shops.
He said that the cause of the fire incident was unknown as there was no electricity supply when the fire started.
Mrs Margaret Adeseye, director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, was quoted as saying tha the incident occurred at about 8:50pm on Saturday.
She said that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service brought the fire under control.
